My name is David, and I’m an avid entrepreneur.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved starting new businesses! When I was 13 years old in northern Illinois, I raised and sold my own popcorn. I owned my own roofing business when I was in my late teens.
I cut my teeth in “real business” as a flooring contractor in California, Minnesota, and Illinois, and I used direct mail to build those business (as well as every subsequent business).
I started a bio-hazard remediation business in Minnesota, a loss mitigation business based in Arkansas and several others.
One thing I’ve learned with these completely unrelated businesses is that marketing, advertising, sales . . . getting people to buy is a lot of where a business falls short.
If you read chapter 3 of The E Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber, you’ll learn that most businesses do quite well at the “mechanics”, fixing the plumbing or mowing the lawns or repairing the cars, but it’s everything else that gets neglected: accounting, human resources, and the associated tasks of running your business. (I can’t help you with these things.)
But one of the biggest fails tends to be marketing . . . getting your message out to enough people to make your business succeed.
Over the last decade I’ve been helping business people do just that – get their message out!
In 2013 years ago my wife and I moved to Europe for a while and so far the “while” has turned into almost a decade.
